On Saturday, June 3, 2017 more than 300 volunteers from all ages filled the gym at James McDivitt Elementary School in Old Bridge, NJ. They were all there for one purpose. It was to package meals of rice, beans, soy, and vitamins for the children of Haiti. In the end we packaged 83,160 meals. This is enough to feed 228 children for an entire year.
We are so grateful for everyone who helped to make this happen. We thank McDivitt Elementary School for hosting the event. We are thank all our donors and volunteers. We especially thank our green shirt volunteers who set up, cleaned up, and did everything in-between. We thank our corporate sponsors. We thank Numana for bringing this event to New Jersey. And we thank Mission of Hope, Haiti who will distribute these meals.
The day was filled with fun and laughter. Many who volunteered said they were eager to bring other friends and family members to the event next year. Speaking of next year, we are already planning our next meal packing event for June 2, 2018. So mark your calendars now. We would love to have you as part of the team.
